During your 4-year term, it is mandatory for you to purchase a surety bond and to use a notary seal in the form of an embosser, pre-inked or self-inking stamp.
It is not a state requirement to maintain a records journal, but it is suggested as a way to protect all notarization you perform in a secure and organized form. Your seal impression is a requirement on your application. New Mexico seals and stamps contain the information that is listed in the state standards which require: official seal, name, Notary Public - state of New Mexico and My Commission Expires with a line. Stamps also feature the image of the Great Seal of the State of New Mexico 1912.
